looking to build a stroker...2024

Post by elkhunter24 »

Well, I'm glad I came across this forum. I am looking to learn a lot.

I searched and searched. I found a lot of information, but its all from 12-15 years ago. A lot of the links are expired and it looks like a lot of companies are out of business or sold etc....

So, sorry for making another thread. But can I get some help? Can you guys help me map out a stroker build?

What I have is a 1998 Jeep XJ.
4.0 automatic transmission. 4x4. (stock)

I want to get up to at least 280-300hp and then turbo it. I will build the rear end, suspension etc...after the motor is done. The jeep won't be a daily driver. Mainly just a toy to cruise around. I'll use it for my hunting rig. I'm after low end power and mid power.

As far as the build what should I go with/do?

I'm pulling the motor this weekend. I have a local shop who will hot tank the block, pressure check it, and put it back together. He told me to bring all the parts I want to use and he will get it done for me.

can you ship the parts to me? I wouldn't need any motor work done with us living so far away from each other. shipping would probably kill me sending my block that far out.
