Thinking about bldg my second stroker for my daily driver, my only concern is on my 2000 GC How would I advance my timing ? On my 1995 Cherokee I was able to adjust the distributor, not sure on a 2000 GC.....any one had any issues with setting the timing
Respectfully,
Jesaire

Re: 2000 grand Cherokee _Stroker & Timing
Anyone out there that can chime in? I believe the GC timing is fixed and not mechanically adjustable. Are there aftermarket tuners that are compatible with a 2000 GC that will allow me to adjust timing?
I appreciate you guys/girls passing on the knowledge
Thanks
Jesaire

Re: 2000 grand Cherokee _Stroker & Timing
The ignition timing was fixed on all Jeep 4.0 models. Rotating the distributor changes the injector timing as that's synchronized with the cam timing and valve opening events.
The ignition timing on OBD 1 Jeeps can only be advanced by slotting the bolt holes of the crank position sensor (CPS) and moving it counterclockwise on the bellhousing when viewed from the front. On OBD 2 Jeeps it can be adjusted in the tune. Guys like chris@christuned and FlyinRyan can do this for you and optimize the fueling, or you could buy a Hypertech programmer except that the latter will have canned tunes that might not be optimized for your set up.
