Build problem
Hello everyone, I just finished a clegg 4.6 build. the motor runs extremely hot. I have a new radiator and all parts including the head are new . no reconditioned parts. quence is at 40. this thing wants to run at 210 deg even at idle. it is a dog I am very disappointed with it so far. I have about 300 miles on it so far. does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should look for? I have double checked the thermostat even tried to run it without one. still runs hot. it is the same radiator & fan I had before the build & it ran 190. If I gas on it or turn on the air its all over. thanks

Did you check your clearances after machining?

Re: Build problem
Check for air in the cooling system. Again. Then do it all over again.

Re: Build problem
I'm with Russ, lead fuel and/or retarded timing will cause those issues.
You can get more power out of ANY engine!!!

Re: Build problem
x3 timing and fuel.
If it had normal power I'd say air bubbles etc, but you said it doesn't. Distributor off one tooth?

Re: Build problem
clearances were checked & I have a blueprint sheet. Motor was assembled at accupro race engines after machine work was done. I will recheck the timing but have checked twice. it does still have stock injectors could this be the problem? I wouldn't think so since it heats up at idle also. the throttle body has been bored & the only other thing was to change to a header. thanks for the reponses, Darryll
