Notttt another project postttttt (88/96 stroker build).
So.... about 2.5 years ago driving down the road 2 of my piston skirts decided to crumble. Yes, its a 96 Cherokee. So at the time I pulled the engine, pulled the pan and found some carnage so I took looked up at the skirt from the bottom(That's what she said) and saw the damage. So being like any other full grown adult I used this opportunity to convince the wife I needed a newer pick up truck and the Cherokee sat. It hurt me to see the Cherokee just sit there after owning it for 15 or so years so about a year and a half ago I bought a Renix Jasper reman with 80k on it. Took it down the block to see how the inside was and low and behold it was bored .40 over. So thats when I started talking to the all knowing Russ on here and we have been going back and forth for over a year and half until all the pieces fell into place and he just recently shipped me out some goodies.
So its an 88 block which is a little beefier which is always good
.40 over forged pistons and Rods from Russ P.
New cam bearings
New main bearings
4 weight crank out of a 4.2 and I am having the whole assembly Balanced.
and I will be using the main bearing girdle
Head is a 96
Mild port, polish
gasket matched the ports
Mopar Performance valve springs
factory valves
Yella Terra 1.6 roller rockers
Additional stuff
Newer model intake manifold
Ford blue top injectors 25 Ibs
63mm Throttle body
Pace Setter exhaust manifold
I am probably missing some stuff as well but that is probably for another post.
Any questions, details or input feel free. All are welcome.
Giant shout out to Russ for the wisdom and guidance.

I did, thought that it was the right move. Has he told you to run something different?

Everything looks great! About the cam, I guess I assumed he would recommend something else but if that's what he said, I would run with it.

Hey Chris,SkylinesSuck wrote:
I just shipped Mike a modified nitrided camshaft that's based off the 68-235-4
Instead of the 111° lobe separation angle, it's changed to 114°. A little more aggressive than the 68-232-4 he was planning to run, but the change in the LSA will help the manifold vacuum over the standard 235 cam and should help Mikes stroker to have a broader torque ban.

Nice. I was sure you'd figure out the best cam for him. Thanks for always taking the time to chat and figure out what best suits our needs

Re: Notttt another project postttttt (88/96 stroker build).
I am going to be running a triple fan setup so the clutch fan will be useless and the pulley would just annoy me. So I ended up pressing the bearing and shaft out of the a/c bracket and it wanted to go a little further. I ended cutting the front of the bracket and sanding it smooth and painting it. I like things to look like they belong and not just a random hole sticking out in the front of the engine. I think it turned out pretty good.

This is the understatement of the century with Russ. He takes the time with everyone and is a super good dude. I think I started talking to him about everything about a year ago and his info was always spot on and his demeanor never faltered. I mean I would have gotten frustrated with myself if I had been talking things out for a year before I bought something.
Top notch.
