what are the preferred years for 4.0 blocks.
my build is a 2006 model. i will have a complete 06 engine to start from but i am looking at having a short block prepped and ready to install and leave the stock 4.0 untouched.
are the 4.0 blocks all the same?
i know i have a differant head. using the coil on plug system..exhauhst is differant also. plus the intake. but other than the minor things like that, everything from the 06 4.0 can bolt on to the whatever year 4.0 block i might end up with?
nothing like cam sprocket differances ect?
steve

Sometime on the newer blocks, there were dif bosses for pulleys/accessory mounts. You should search over on Naxja, as that was discussed in the last month. I did the same though, I kept the 75K 96 block untouched and built up the 94 block from my rolled 94. I'm still looking for a nice shell to put it in.
