Post by Khwaja »

Hi Everyone,
Calling from Dubai
I am a proud owner of 06 TJ , 4.0 manual6 , which I don't want to part with in my quest for more power & performance .
Need you expertise to guide me in the right direction on how & using which parts I can put new life in my ride.
4.6 / 4.7 , buying a kit or putting parts together etc etc

Appreciate all your help

Regards
Saif

Hi Saif,

I live 140km from you in Al Ain and I've been running a 4.6L stroker for more than 12 years.
If your existing engine is still running well, I suggest you buy a running (not seized or blown) junkyard 4.0L engine from another '03-'06 TJ and build that up. Take a look at the stroker recipes in my sig., choose the one that most closely fits your needs, and work from there. I'd suggest that you avoid the 4.8L-5.0L recipes unless you're willing to dump a lot of money into high $ custom parts.
Russ Pottenger can guide you through the build process and supply you with the parts that you'll need to get your project started. Once you have the stroker engine swapped into your Jeep and running, you could either keep your old 4.0 engine as a spare or sell it to another Jeep enthusiast.
