ATK?

Post by EZBUZZSSAW »

I would like to know anyone's experience with ATK. I know all here are pretty die hard on building their own.... I have built the whole jeep and need it back on the road fast so I need to do a drop in. Is ATK a good choice for a drop in stroker or are they just another scam engine builder? I cant afford to invest a long weekend in a problem child engine. I want to get another 10 year engine here not a 3 year fix or even worse a 3 week cursed engine!
Thanks,
EZBUZZSAW

PS this is my 4th jeep build and I still have 3 XJ's and one TJ.
ARB 4" lift, cut fenders, 130 amp alt., triple electric fans, IPF head lights, Custom Wiring for IPF's, Frame stiffeners (best mod ever), Front and rear bumpers, winch, tire carrier, roof rack, Ham Radio D710G.
3 XJ's and one TJ.

Welcome to the stroker family Austin. Where are you located?
A ready-built ATK stroker will cost a pretty penny, and the only one worth considering IMO is their Baja Beast.
However you could rebuild your existing engine at much lower cost and get the same or better result. If you can find a competent machine shop and engine builder locally, all you'd then need is the parts and Russ Pottenger is your man for that. If you live in SoCal you'd be close enough to his shop for him to do the build 4U2.
