Not on an OBDI, but had one on a carbed Ford engine once. About all I noticed is that the plugs didn't last as long. I don't think I'd want to try it on a computer controlled FI engine.
That box is supposed to create a hotter spark, and longer spark duration. I don't think they create any advantage unless you are having weak spark issues due to high HP or boost.

I have a Jacobs ignition system, it's the same Idea, just a piggyback system to improve over points, I took the Jacobs off of my Jeep, I saw NO! improvement in starting, power or mileage as they say it will improve!?
You can get more power out of ANY engine!!!

I've heard some good about the msd-6 boxes: multiple sparks before 3K guarantees no unburnt fuel, crisper idle, easier start, maybe a mpg. They work good in conjunction with a hotter coil and better wires and allow a bigger plug gap due to more energy released.

Sounds like we have a sucker for marketing clauses
As RPM is increased, Fuel is ignited BTDC because it burns too slowly to be ignited at the same point with the same results. So what is multiple sparks gonna do? its the first spark that counts.
An electronic ignition systems, i think MSD boxes are a waste of time. Thats just my opinion

Go get opinions on NAXJA from guys that have used it--I have an overall positive response from what I've read(my personal filter says it's good). For example, I'm one of those that have had good results from a jet2 chip on my obd1 and ok results on the obd2--you'll see tons of negatives about them from people that haven't used them. You have it already, it'll take an hour to install it, if you don't like it, sell it.
It is up on Ebay now. I figure I don't need it nor have the time to futz with it. I'm buildin' a set of Dana 60's on a YJ frame for my CJ-- that is taking up every spare momnet I have!
They have there uses. But in the lower HP range not mutch.
But if for some reason you get any moisture in the air filter they will prove there worth in the energy they put out. I run a 6AL on my YJ with a stroked sbc. Do not care mutch about the multipull sparke. But if you are dumping alot of fuel into the cylinder the box is nice.
i'm new here. i have been running an Al6 on my 91XJ and it made a difference for me i have a renix long block and a HO intake, ported tb, afe stage 2, borla header and a custom 2.5 inch exhaust with a flowmaster 50 series. i also run a catch can for oil mist have a oil and trany cooler to. i get about 15 mpg with 3.55 gears and 32 inch tires but i live in PA. still dosent shift much on the highway at 75.

Something that IS useful about the MSD is that its not really affectetd much by low voltage... it can compensate pretty well...
So if you have lots of lights and etc and come near a stall (causing the alternator output to drop to zero), it can still produce a decently strong spark to get the RPM's back up...
other than that I ahven't seen too much beyond that... just another component to fail.
