Re: Did my builder put the cam in 180 off ???
Actually nobody could explain what happened. This whole situation was odd and didn't make sense at all. If it was explained why an exact camshaft replacement with detailed reference markings had to be re-timed after a new install would be number one. The second would be as to why one tdc rotation with camshaft and crank dots aligned the dizzy was 180 off and second rotation dots opposite at tdc I was pointed at number one and third why after perfect specific install of the new camshaft the dizzy was 40 off. Actually nobody answered any of them !!! Either way I got it.

So where was your #1 plug wire on the dist cap?
Where your rotor is pointing or in the same position as everyone elses?
A picture here would help

You didn't post any pics of how your plug wires were connected to the dizzy cap, nor which way the rotor was pointing when you had the dots on the timing set sprockets facing each other, so what did you expect?amceaglesx4 wrote:Actually nobody could explain what happened.

Dino I see your point. The wires were on the right way. Even with a picture though it would look like spaghetti.

You could have just installed the plug wires so that when #1 was at tdc, the rotor is pointing at the #1 plug wire.
