Ported head (used 0331 cast, claims it's stronger than stock)

Custom forged pistons 10 in hole

Roller rockers

1) spectre cone filter with half aluminum and half rubber tubing, pcv is vented behind filter.
2) 62mm throttle body.
3) stainless obx header (not ported at weld seem.
4) Stock exhaust from header to tail pipe (for now)
Those are not the specs of a 300hp stroker and if 505 Performance are claiming that number, they're blowing smoke out of their tailpipe.
Can you post your dyno sheet? Maybe we'll be able to make some sense out of it.

Max torque was 208.5 @about 3.5k
Max hp was 154 @ 4k!!??

CONCERN. .. Lines are jumpy in hp and tq.. Not solid incline Lile I would expect
I take it this is a chassis dyno. What brand dyno?
A bit low on the CR and a bit high on the quench.

Stock is only like 135hp and 165-170tq. Your stroker is 15% bigger than stock, so I would expect 15% more power. +15% -> 155hp and 200tq.

It's roughly 135/175 through an AW4 and 155/195 through an AX15. I'd expect a 4.6L stroker to produce ~35% more than that with a ported head, camshaft, higher CR, and external bolt-ons such as CAI, larger TB, header, and 2.5" exhaust.

Bottom line, while there may be some additional gains with a tune.........

505 strikes again :deadhorse:

Let`s talk about tunes for a moment.

The vast amount of gain is a safety net for the engine itself. Not too lean or too rich. Timing adjusted to match the cylinder pressures and diet, a tune at it`s simplest terms.

This in itself can and often does add a bit of power but the real benefit is reliability and drivability.

Most of us are already adding extra fuel and often extra octane. A tune simply tailors the parameters a little closer to optimum. To expect a huge increase in performance with the typical setups we run is false thinking.

I'm not sure about head gasket thickness or hole#s, again
I'm new to motor builds and getting info from 505 is like talking to an emotional 12 year old. I'm using a chart on angelfire to fill in blankes about cam specs ,based on what he.texted me. I belive it's 480 lift. As no other cams there have those #s.
Unfortunately, replacing the head is not an option. I have spent too much money and if he says this motor can make 305 hp in his world, I need to do ALL the little things to get as close as possible and to make sure it will last atleast half life of a stock 4.0 and move on with my life...

I'm going to do some exhaust work too but can't eliminate pre cats because it still needs to pass emissions. Is there anything other than magniflow for these pre cats as HI FLOW. God their almost $600 ,and in the.case of new pre cats, I would eliminate rear cat and do just a simple 2.5" exhaust And new muffler ,probably dynomax .

I want to alter my ca emissions as much as possible to re claim hp and still pass denver emissions .
