Wanted to give some insight.
For a 4.5-4.7 a 300cfm works great. A good choice is the motor craft 2100/2150 two barrel. Preferred is the 1.08 venturi. The rating is 287 cfm . It has small primaries but has a better off idle acceleration. The 1.14 venturi version works well to buy stay away from the 1.21 or 1.33 because they are more sluggish. The 500cfm edelbrock or carter work very well but in my opinion you need really good porting and flow for the 500 to do its best. I've been really trying to find a carter 400cfm and feel that may be the winner due to the 1 1/8 primaries. Never really been a holley guy but I've heard the truck avenger 390 works great. Just thought I'd throw some knowledge out there.
