4.0 horse shoe intake ( 99-01 )
I want to put a four barrel on it. Looking for opinions on this fan work. My thoughts are to sit a four barrel spacer where it could sit nice , cut out a middle and aluminum braze it to the intake. Anyone ever attempt this ? I like this intake over after markets due to the huge plenum. Thanks

I don't know of anyone who's done it but the curved runner manifold design does make it a good candidate for modifying for a carb set-up.

It's been done many times. Here's a few-

Thanks. Read the second thread where a four barrel was used. Apparently he bought a cheap spacer and mounted it. Be nice if he gave some insight ! I've yet to see a throttle body to four barrel adaptor . It doesn't make much sense. Tomake it effective for airflow " at least for and edelbrock " you would need a 140 mom bore size. Wish it was that easy lmao

Well that's done lol. After a lot of cutting and die grinding the intake is a big open square. I tapped and mounted a two barrel volley on a four to two barrel adaptor. As well test fit and tapped a four barrel baseplate so when I eventually get a edelbrock 500 four barrel the 2-4 adaptor comes off and the four barrel baseplate goes on.

Be absolutely sure that if you welded a plate to the intake for the adapter it is flat and not warped. Not many carbs will like to be bolted down to hilly surface! lol

Lol yea I know. Wasn't as flat as I thought. A lot of flat filing. I'll take a pic soon. I broke my wrist. Right now the carb is on it but you could see I made it work.

Re: 4.0 horse shoe intake ( 99-01 )
Lol that was prior to the wrist incident. I made it a square bore hole and can bolt a 4 to 2 barrel adaptor on it to use a two barrel carb or bolt on a four barrel adaptor for a four barrel. Bolts run up through the inside of the intake. If I wanted I still have the option of using the two barrel plate and adapt TBI back up like stock
