drop in valve springs

Im lookimg for a set of springs to run on my stroker, running the comp cams 68-231-4 and have valve float at 4500 rpm. Really dont want to have to pull the head back off to swap the springs. What part numbers will work for me? Thanks for the help.

The only ones that are truly drop-in without needing to adjust for installed height are the Mopar Performance P5249464 units. Good luck finding them without paying an arm and a leg.

Springs: http://m.summitracing.com/parts/dcc-5249464 at $13 each x 12 = $156
Retainers: http://m.summitracing.com/parts/dcc-4452032 at $11 each x 12 = $132
Keepers: http://m.summitracing.com/parts/dcc-4529218 set of 16 = $21

Total cost = $309 i.e. not cheap
At least you have the advantage of being able to drop these straight in, provided the valve stems have single grooves, without machining the spring seats to alter the installed height.
You can weigh that up against the cost of LS1 valves plus LS1 springs/retainers/keepers, and machining the spring seats for the LS1 spring height, to decide which is better for you.

So the retainers are needed too? The valves are stock 95. Also the keepers?

The listed keepers are 8° and the retainers are 7° so those don't match

If you're swapping out Springs and running this at 4500, I'd recommend a chrome Molly pushrod upgrade also.

Are you sure you have valve float? or could it be coil bind.

Stock springs are only recommended to maximum 0.440" lift safely (0.020" margin) before coil bind (bind at 0.450"-0.460") and the 231 cam has 0.462"/0.485" lift.

I don't know honestly, but there is no noises or anything. Runs great up to 4500 then sounds like a misfire but consistently. So I've been keeping the rpms under 4000 till I can get the new springs figured out. Up to the 4500 point the thing runs like a top.

What are the specs of that spring? Spring rate, psi at 1.64" installed height and psi at 0.500".

All I can find is-
1.420 in. Outside Diameter, 1.640 in. Installed Height, go to 0.600" lift
