head gasket
I have a P-4529242 mls head gasket do you put it on dry or put some sealer on it ? the jeep performance manual says put on dry but don't get any sealer in the bores or head bolt threads!

Re: head gasket
Put the head gasket on dry.
The front driver side head bolt goes into water.
Put sealer on those threads. The rest of the head bolts are blind. Put oil on those threads, and under the head of the bolt.
The cost of new head bolts are about 30 bucks. Wouldn't be a bad idea to replace them.

Re: head gasket
thanks, I have new arp bolts . With the aluminum head would be ok to remove the rivets from the gasket, I don't have the same water ports as the iron head and they leave a small impression in the head.
