Question about crank sensor mounting
First time poster, long time lurker. I'm working on my build but I have an issue with mounting the crank sensor. 1990 wrangler, 4.2 carb with an automatic. I'm swapping in a 4.0 from a 1994 Cherokee and using a Cherokee wiring harness and going fuel injection. I don't want to go the hesco route and I have a sensor from a grand Cherokee. The problem is my transmission doesn't have the cutout for the sensor to mount. What it has, instead, is the casting exactly like the grand Cherokee had. Can I use this mount if I drill out the casting to match the sensor? Thanks for the help and thanks for all the great info!

Re: Question about crank sensor mounting
I wonder if you can use the GC crank position sensor?

Re: Question about crank sensor mounting
That's my current plan. The sensor from the grand Cherokee plugs into the wiring harness of the Cherokee just fine.

Re: Question about crank sensor mounting
Well I can finally answer my own question.....yes you can! I used a 1994 wrangler crank sensor and drilled out the casting. I had a '94 Cherokee flexplate but it wouldn't fit my transmission so I had to get a '94 wrangler flexplate. The holes in the flexplate lined up and I drilled the mounting tab once I had the sensor in position. Started it up last night for the first time.....can't wait to get it all put back together so I can drive it!
