I got it to pass smog, it turned out that my CAT was tired and so I replaced it with the Magnaflow one; the old CAT looked full of soot when we looked inside it. I don't know how to read the smog results, but I was told that it passed clean, man that was stressful haha. There seems to be another option for catalytic converters, and that's the Walker brand that seems good for California and New York emissions and it's about $60 dollars cheaper than the Magnaflow CAT, but I didn't want to take any chances and so I went with the more expensive Magnaflow.
I did install colder plugs than the 3923, and they are racing plugs AR3911. I got worried that I wasn't passing smog before finding out I had a bad CAT, so I installed those, I'm still wondering if I should leave them in because they're the non resistor types, and I didn't know what that meant before I bought them. I'm not getting any issues with them so far, and my Jeep doesn't seem to behave bad with them.
My NOX numbers when starting was in the high 1000s, and the other numbers were low to begin with, but did improve a but with the new CAT.
It's alive! Finally.
