So I bought a 1989 Automatic Wrangler Laredo XJ with a Holley quad 390cfm -offy combo, it runs but it's a nightmare of bad history.
Automatic slips a bit.
Rod? Rattles on cold start before oil pressure builds. Could be skirts slaps?
Holley is only running on one side, linkage set up doesn't allow secondary to open?
I put kick down springs on it and it's better than when I bought it, evil grin.
I knew I was getting a rolling wreck, I'm happy with it.
I'd like to clear up all the issues before ? I stroke it, and that's why I'm here.
What would be a good donor vehicle to look
for?? Is there a one size fits all cherokee to get my engine and transmission??
I've got a new (VW) weber DFEV 32/36 but no manifold, and not sure it's ideal for a stroker.
I haven't even tried to see if 4WD works, with the vacumm and wires mess I doubt it.
Thank for looking, by all means tell me how happy you are that you didn't just buy this pile!
What kind of exhaust would go 6 into 2 under the intake and cross under the oil pan and go into one pipe?
Sorry, I know squat about jeeps. I'm a retired foreign car mechanic.
