He was able to press in the bolts, but I think that he was hoping that he didn't have to press them in after machining. I don't know, I told him that they're supposed to be pressed in before, so I'm fine with it, but it's my word vs his experience. I've ran into problems like this with mechanics when I take them a custom job, they're used to working with in spec and tend to be too careful or shy away when things don't install the way they used to doing for years. I've been turned away when I was looking for a mechanic to install my mpi kit for my 4.2 years ago because it's too much of a risk for their business I guess. So, I was kind of expecting small bumps like this, but I try my best to give them answers. He's been easy to work with, and patient, so it's cool.
My stuff should be ready next week so I should ask about the clearance when installing the rod bearings. I know that the torque spec will be higher than normal with the ARP bolts, so will that affect the plastigage numbers? Will i be going off of what the repair manual says?
