Flyin Ryan is tuning my stroker

He has asked that I set the crank/cam sync to plus five with a scanner. Not wishing to buy one, I thought I would try another method, other than the fabled toothpick.
So here is my cam/crank sync using my non storage scope (20 years old, not ideal).
The lower trace is the CrankPS. There are 12 indents on the flywheel and so 12 pulses = 360 degree or one turn of crank.
The upper trace is the CamPS and one pulse 180 degree rotation of cam or 360 rotation of crank.
The twelve crank pulses are supposed to be in the middle of the cam pulse.
At the moment I would reckon the CrankPS pulses are in advance of middle of CamPS pulse by 2 ticks of scope or 12 degree of CRANK.
So when I need to set to "plus 5" does that mean bang in the middle and then 5 more degrees (of crank or cam)???
