IAC Motor o-ring size?

Post by Alexia »

I ran into a problem installing the Painless #65301 68mm throttle body. They used a 0.95" shoulder for the sealing surface on the IAC motor housing for the o-ring. However, the stock IAC motor housing is 0.88" on the shoulder which means the stock IAC motor does not seal. I noticed that some of the pictures of later 2000 XJ IAC motors show a larger o-ring. Can anyone get me a measurement of the o-ring size on one of those?

P.S. For the $450 typical price one would believe they would include the necessary o-ring for the IAC motor and correctly sized hardware for the stock MAP sensor.

IAC has an Oring?

I know when I installed my Dakota TB the hole for the IAC pintle was larger, so I just got an IAC for the Dakota, pulled the pintle out of it and put it in my IAC. The Pintle in mine just goes into the machined slot within the TB.. not aware of an Oring.. although I run a RENIX Jeep so it could differ from latter models.

A 3/4" ID, 15/16" OD, 3/32" thickness o-ring from a Harbor Freight Storehouse brand kit works well enough to seal.
