Just stopping in to say hello. I have been lurking around looking for stroker ideas for my wrangler. I am finally to the point of making a build list and whatnot. Figured it was time to sign up because I'm sure I will be asking some questions and looking for advise in the near future.
By the looks of things I am looking at making a "poor mans" stroker.
Thanks in advance, Vic

We like pictures. I think most of us start with the idea of a "poor man's"...I know I did. But then you get into the build and before you know it you have two build lists. You have your "needs" list and your "wants" list. My build turned out to be a mixture of the two. Good luck. There is lots of good advice here.

I see a few stroker builds with the 258 crank and rods with 4.0 pistons that didn't deck the motor or re-dish the pistons. The only sacrifice I see is the quench is a little high. What I didn't see was how well these motors ran and if they spark knocked. Any feed on this? Thanks

Welcome to the forum Vic. Wealth of information here and on the web in general. Mainly the jeep inline 6 stuff on this spot though.

Not as well as they could have and likely they will.Bert wrote: What I didn't see was how well these motors ran and if they spark knocked.

Re: New User Saying Hello
I have that setup and mine runs great and does not knock. If I do not run 91 octane and lug it sometimes that A/F will go high and I will get a light knock. Not sure why the A/F goes high in that instance but 91 seems to keep it from pinging. I have heard plenty of older stock engines do the same though.Bert wrote:I see a few stroker builds with the 258 crank and rods with 4.0 pistons that didn't deck the motor or re-dish the pistons.
