Re: Megasquirt program
Correct me if i'm wrong but I think only MS3 has the coding to support the 2000 trigger wheel. MS2 will only do the renix one.

Re: Megasquirt program
so you CAN run a MS with the stock renix fly wheel/cps. i had thought you would have to convert to a balancer mounted set up...other than trans options is there any benefit to balancer mounted???

Re: Megasquirt program
the sensor in the balancer is at lower temperature than the stock posicion
the hight temperature always damage the sensor

Re: Megasquirt program
The Jeep Renix trigger wheel is pattern is 66-2-2-2. In MS2 it’s under Renix 44-2-2 but when you select 6 cylinders instead of 4 it will use the 66-2-2-2 code. Cam signal should not be needed.
For MS1 you would need to run a 36-1 trigger wheel on the balancer or use a 91-93 4.0L distributor with a ford 6 vane shutter wheel. 4.2L distributor is also an option.

Re: Megasquirt program
Is there anyone currently active on board running an MS3 setup with stroker/boosted setup?
I'm considering MS3 over an OBDII conversion w/factory harness… Why??..
From what I have read MS3 can handle.
-boost control
-fuel mapping
-coil pack setup
-voltage ramp for electric fan(s)
-ign timing/spark
-MAF
-allow for future upgrades like cam dry sump setup.
-everything ecm factory does
cost for an external voltage ramp/relay just for fans will run me $175-300- depending on which one i use. Isn't that what it cost just to buy an MS3 and put together?
Thanks,
Brian
