i know that there is about 100 different ways to build a stroker i know that i know that i was going for basic ways plan on going 0.30 over and then
i ordered a comp cam and lifters from comp cam and now my machine shop doesnt want to f with me he had me come get all my stuff SO...
i was going to have him do the CPR and put lower end together b/c he is a good quality performance shop no stress on me
but now im back to getting pistons and what pistons and what CPR
all of that good stuff i have a shop to machine everything but i guess im asking what do i need to do to the block?
im trying to find mopar performance valve springs and all of rest of the stuff
i have a good crankshaft the 4 weight one, i have the bearings and all of that fun stuff
i have the 4.2 707 casting numbers paid 70 bucks for all of them so if i need to run my 4.0 rods its not a huge loss
so things i think and know im missing is
HEAD GASKET
PISTONS AND IF I NEED TO HAVE THEM MODIFIED
A HEAD GASKET IM PRETTY SURE THATS A EASY ONE
IM NOT GOING FOR HUGE NUMBERS JUST A BASIC STROKER
IM IN THE CAM LIFTERS AND CRANK/ RODS LIKE 320
AND THE JEEP IS ALREADY ALL APART READY TO GO AND I JUST GOT A LETTER FROM THE CITY SAYING A CAR CANT SIT MORE THAN THREE DAYS NON RUNNING

MLS .044" compressed head gaskets:
Mopar Performance P4529242
Jeep 53010587AA
Victor Reinz 54249S (available from Carquest using 54249, no 'S')
FEL-PRO 26211 PT
For piston options see my last post here: http://www.jeepstrokers.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=34&t=67
You need to decide if you want to go the forged piston route (4.0L rods) or not. Then you need to decide on your desired compression ratio.

On forged pistons this is where I really get lost so I see all these piston kits for 500 bucks thats not out of my budget but is it worth an additional 350 bucks
Seems kinda like wasteful I guess maybe I dont understand a forged piston besides in my jetski stuff im going for pump gas Im going to sut down with a old machine racing engine shop guy I know on wed hes gonna get it all fkowing but do I use 4.0 tods or my 4.2 shorter rods

You can use either rods. The 4.0 rods are longer and require expensive pistons with a shorter pin hieght. If you are not going to boost your engine then you can get by with cheaper Hypereutectic pistons and save a lot of money. Sealed Power makes good hypers and summitracing.com is currently selling them for right around 100 USD.
