Sort of like meth injection setup in a way. I was thinking of a .5 GPH mister or fogger in the intake track. This would be similar to the 7th injector or meth injection people run. I was thinking about possibly using the rear washer sprayer and just adding in the nozzle. This would give me option of flipping a switch to spray..like in a race or 1/4mile or just at highway cruise for a minute or so to "steam clean" the motor every now and then. Being such a small amount it would be used mainly for cooling properties and the cleaning properties. No more carbon build up ever!
Running -20* washer fluid is actually 1% detergant, 38% methanol and the rest water. So it can be and has been injected safely many many times. And it's still there to wash the front windshield when needed
Nozzle would have to go somewhere between the stock upper intake box lid and the throttle body. I'm running a 99 style intake so it should get dispersed fairly evenly throughout the motor. I'm guessing I could just tap it in the fair air inlet house?
Anyone else ever thought of this? I see no real reason to spend 200+ dollars on a "meth" kit when all I'd use it for it cooling when playing around or to steam clean the motor every now and then. Seems like a great cheap idea and has the same basic printable a as a meth kit.

I have thought about it but not done it. I would think it would be good to have one whenever the RPMs are above~2,500 and the throttle is more than 1/3 or something.
I thought about running a water/meth setup myself but ended up scraping the idea.There's more to it then just rigging up a .5gph mister. It's got to be under more pressure then your washer pump can generate. The water has to be a fine mist that can only be generated when pushed by a high pressure pump. If it was that easy they wouldn't be selling $1000 water/meth kits like hotcakes.
Fluid would be exactly what many people do use. Some use boost juice, some use their own mixture of meth & water & others rubbing alcohol. It works the same, the only worry I see is the detergents. But at 1% and being water solvable I don't see those as an issue either.
People make DIY kits, mainly diesel guys, and they are running off 40-60psi. NO you don't need 150-200psi that the kits offer to make it work. You just simply need to find the proper nozzles for the psi you are actually running.
They do make 40psi nozzles. That will flow xx amount & give the proper atomization @ 40-60psi. Idk if our little pumps push that or not..if not a simple 50 dollar surflow pump would solve that issue. I plan to pick up some line and a couple nozzles to play with to see if the effect will actually work. Its simple enough to hook it up and press a button. If I'm spraying it at 3000+rpm the air movement should be enough to suck it up and in right?
I'm curious how cheap it could be done and being that I see temps of 115* in the summer its deffinetly something I'm interested in.
Many people use washer fluid as its 50 % methanol. I"ll be using washer fluid. I got my kit for $150 iirc. Its used but its a progressive rate and adjustable.
