You did remember to reattach the ground strap from the block to the firewall?

are you sure you have the right cap and rotor i know the newer ones have have different cap and rotors

Could the distributor be work enough to move the rotor too far away from the non firing plugs?

By chance did you put the wrong flywheel on? A 91-97 flywheel on a 87-90 renix will cause the exact symtoms you have.(Been there. Done that)

Yes came off of my 89 renix block I used not to mention it wasn't doing any of this when I spun the bearing the only problem I had be for was it would cut off while I was driving sometimes so I replaced the harness and that problem went away

I just saw this and it's old but I bought a jeep that wouldn't start after motor swap. It was only firing on 2 cyl and it ended up being a renix flywheel on a HO motor.. The PO swapped a renix block in and didn't change the flywheel. It had me scratching my head for some time....LOL
