Dual outlet header 2 1/4in collectors?
Hello everyone new guy on the forum. Been reading on this sight for over a year and figured about time I join in. Lots to learn on here! I have a 94 xj 4.0 which i performance modded quite a bit despite no forced induction or stroker. I really want the stroker to happen. Most likely going to go with the 4.9 kit from 505 performance(currently waiting on the race head). My question is is their any dual outlet header that comes with 2 1/4 inch collectors and not 2 inch? Might have to get my pacesetters cut and welded if i cant find any. Im going to run a true dual all the way I know it's unnecessary but it's something I really want to do. Any help would be great!

Thats what i was wondering but then if i only had one pipe it was have to be at least a 2.9 inch pipe size at the collector to keep from restricting the potential hp? Two 2 inch pipes is good for around 320 hp if i remember correctly. So it would have to be one 3 inch or two 2 1/4 inch.mountaineerjeff wrote:If you are set on it, then by all means, but someone correct me if im wrong, but du to scavenging would a wll made 6-2-1 make more power?

yes, and that said, the new setup is going to be a single 3" dump. Im not sure where though. I want it to be as short as possible, but also dont want to get sick from fumes....Im going to try to mod a pacesetter 6-2-1 and go from there.

. The answer I got there was a 6-1 header. What is lacking is good solid objective dyno results, and the sharing of that such information.... What I would like is a honest full length long tube header, so you could use a cam a little more mid-range, and get the benefit of some torque added back before peak.
I believe the Clifford headers have a 2.5" collector, and you could use a reducer to get it down where you want it.My question is is their any dual outlet header that comes with 2 1/4 inch collectors and not 2 inch?

Always thought a true dual was better for top end, and the 6-2-1 was better for lower end(?) There's also a header you see down in Australia configured 6-3-1. Don't know which is best. I asked the "what's the best header" question on the HESCO site, and the answer I got there seemed like it only created more questionsbut du to scavenging would a wll made 6-2-1 make more power?

I cut up a borla and made it a long tube 6-2-1 with 2.25 secondary's and a 3 inch collector to a "race" cat and a flowmaster 40 series.
92 XJ 4D custom borla header 3" exhaust flowmaster 50series muffler.
ATK on the way then an OBD 2 swap so flyin ryan can tune.
