4.6l stroker 1993 jeep wrangler

Post by will12321 »

so everyone ill admit it. i have no clue what valves i should put into my stroker i wanna get everything decided before i start spending too much money into it.
i have a lot decided so far i know i'm boring it .060" over and using Keith black pistons http://www.summitracing.com/parts/uem-ic944-060
im buying a 4.2l crankshaft online
im buying a comp cam camshaft http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cca-68-235-4 (not sure what valves, springs, lifters, or push rods to use.. im lost with that)
a 68mm throttle body
getting my intake manifold ported and polished for the 68mm throttle body
headers for my exhaust and having my exhaust professionally done http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dte-h ... l/wrangler
a high volume water pump
a new lighter 6 blade clutch fan (like the reliability)
8mm spark plug wires
175amp alternator(for my bigger ignition system)
ignition coil http://www.quadratec.com/products/17610_700.htm
and thats all i know of so far im having troubles deciding what valves and etc. i should use, a nice high powered distributor, fuel injectors, and if there and any 68mm throttle body spacers?
if anyone has any advice or suggestions im open to it! Ive never built a stroker before

You might check titan out for Your pistons ,I think I got mine for 345$ delivered. That was less than 2 months ago! They may not have the best rep for crate engines but they treated me good and the pistons all checked out great!

Sounds like you're planning to build something like this stroker recipe:

4.7L medium-buck stroker

Jeep 4.2L crank
Jeep 4.0L 6.125" rods
Keith-Black UEM-IC944-060 pistons
10.0:1 CR
CompCams 68-235-4 210/218 degree camshaft
CNC ported HO 1.91"/1.50" cylinder head
Mill block deck 0.028" (zero deck clearance)
Mopar/Victor 0.043" head gasket
0.043" quench height
Flometrics F&B 68mm billet TB
Accel 26lb/hr injectors with adjustable FPR or MAP adjuster for '87-'95 engines
281hp @ 5000rpm, 335lbft @ 3700rpm

For the head, keep the stock valves. Bigger valves won't confer much advantage 'cause airflow is limited by the port/throat size.
Hesco have a 68mm TB spacer http://www.hescosc.com/products/7972/th ... r-hes68tbs but it's an eye-watering $135. You're better off making your own.
Other parts you'll need:

Water pump: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bra-1747
Valve springs: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dcc-5249464
Retainers: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dcc-4452032
Keepers: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dcc-4529218
Pushrods: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/cro-69960r-16 (0.025" shorter than stock to compensate for block milling)
Roller rockers: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/csp-s40196 (optional but desirable with upgraded valve springs)

Just get a brand new OEM distributor. It'll give you all the spark you'll need and I doubt that there's a better one out there.
