finally strokin

Everything is at the machine shop all thats left to decide is camshaft ,I've went with a modified poor man stroker Keith black pistons ic944 .30 over plan on decking the block to leave them .5 in the hole to give me a 48 quench another thing I know is going to come up is push rods ,anyone think ill need custom?
The plan is have the shop do the bottom end and I'm going to button up the rest! Tips advice? Please

For reference the cloyes double roller I got has 87718 on the big sprocket not 3127 which made me paranoid at first but it's right

Side project picked up a hood same color and year as the XJ making a hood scoop with about a 3 inch rise,just in case I screw up I still have my original hood

Why are you using stock heat range spark plugs?

I didn't know that was a bad idea, I've always had good luck with the champions,what should I run?

If you have a 00+ I would recommend nothing but NGK as they seem to prefer them. Champions work, but I personally feel that NGK is a better plug. Many people do well with Champions, so I don't think there is anything wrong with them. The problem with your plugs is the heat range. More compression = lower heat range. For NGK, 2756/BKR6E-11, or NGK 4291/ZFR6F-11(extended tip) will work. IIRC I believe the correct heat range on the Champion is a 9, so RC9LYC if you like champion. You may want to verify the Champion number on here though.

I got a 1997 xj I swear I've read something about people putting a bigger gap in em when they're running to hot ,if plugs are the least of my worries ill be thrilled

Well I've been choppin up my hood all day to make what I believe is called a cowl (open by the windshield) ill post some pics in a lil bit I got it mostly tacked up it goes from about a half inch to 2&1/4 ,3 inches looked kinda ridiculous!
Projects done for the day because I had the bright idea of welding without gloves and I'm pretty sure my fingerprints are gone

I'm a sand blaster /powder coater ,not a welder obviously but for 50$ to have a fictional hood to keep the heep cool I can't complain

That should help. I have seen a lot of XJ's with washers between the hood and hood hinges to give it a small gap in the rear. I think what you did should work much better.
