Re: Stroker problem: fuel in intake runners, Wrong cam?
I'm just thinking out loud... It could be one problem or a few compounding the issues that you're having. Elimination of known variables is the best way to find your problem. Here's a few more things to think about before you tear into it. Good luck.
1. What's the thing making for vacuum at idle?
2. Can you confirm that the timing chain/sprockets were installed correctly?
3. Have you done a cranking compression check?
4. Are you certain that the dizzy is indexed properly?

Re: Stroker problem: fuel in intake runners, Wrong cam?
There are not many ways for fuel to get into the intake. That was a good mention on the FPR diaphram leaking, maybe from the gas tank fuel evap system. Overfilling the gas tank and fuel gets into the charcoal filter and vents into the engine. IDK. What vacum hoses had fuel in them? I doubt reversion of the intake tract and the injectors ?'blowing' up into the intake. Leaking/dripping injectors, possible, especially after shut down, but isn't it downhill into the head? Interesting problem.

Re: Stroker problem: fuel in intake runners, Wrong cam?
Hi guys thanks very much for the replys
Hi 6time
At idle 17HG vacuum /// 1. What's the thing making for vacuum at idle?
Will confirm as I progress 2. Can you confirm that the timing chain/sprockets were installed correctly?
Compression is 195 to 200 all cylinders 3. Have you done a cranking compression check?
Not sure, will be checking this today 4. Are you certain that the dizzy is indexed properly?
Fuel pressure is 30 and 39 psi unplugged.
Cobramarty
Pressure regulator is ok, no fuel leaking from it when unplugged.
There is was wet fuel on the IAT sensor when I swapped it last week.
No fuel in evap, system..
Will check dist. index. today.

Re: Stroker problem: fuel in intake runners, Wrong cam?
A mechanic friend thinks i might have an exhaust restriction.
This would cause a fuel reversion.
I checked this at the wideband o2 sensor bung with an adapter.
Seems ok with a gauge from the junk pile.
Just ordered a 3 1/2" diameter test gauge for better accuracy.

Re: Stroker problem: Ford 24 pound injector caused these pro
Ford 24 pound green top fat metal body injector caused these problems.
Symptoms include:
Over heating on long hard pulls.
Hi Nox
Popping during decelerating sounds very cool but is a problem.
Feels like it should have more power.
This injector shoots a stream of fuel it does not atomize the fuel/per bench test.
It would not atomize even at 50psi.
Pattern did not start spreading out until 10 inches away from test platform (way to far).
I installed Bosch 4 hole injectors and it ran like a champ.
Climed to 7000 feet in 5th gear. no over heating.
Should be set at 43 to 45 psi.
My2 cents
Cant seem to get a picture up sorry.

Re: Stroker problem: fuel in intake runners, Wrong cam?
Were they the old EV1 style injectors? If so the green top could have been 42# injectors. What is number on the side of the injector? 0280150558?

They may have been a bit large when you ran 50 psi, but if they are single hole they won't atomize that well when viewed outside a running engine. Most of the atomization is done by the injector firing into the back of a hot intake valve. Were they from a salvage yard?

Re: Stroker problem: fuel in intake runners, Wrong cam?
I ran it up to 50psi on my test stand while watching the spray pattern.
50 psi was the upper limit of my test to see if it would spray well at a higher pressure.
I also lowered it to 30 psi test just to cover all the bases.
Unfortunatly our engines spray into the cylinder and not on to the exhaust valve making this injector a poor choice.
These were an ebay purchase.
Just more junk to trip over in the garage.

No, they spray into the back of a closed intake valve as do most EFI systems.
