low buck with Lunati

Post by titan »

It looks like I've got an excuse for a stroker after all! My wife got back from a hockey tournament and found our 95 ZJ running poorly. One cylinder is down to 25psi while the other five are at ~130. As this is our DD reliability is paramount and fuel economy is very important. I'm building a regular motor, not a racer. Of course as I'd like to drive down to down do the Rubicon at the Jeep Jamboree this year towing a tent trailer a bit more power would be nice.

I want to basically copy the low buck stroker from http://www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com/stroker.html , but with the Lunati 10680700LK (63500LK) cam instead for low end torque and adding a header of some sort. This raises the DCR, but what octane fuel would I need to run?

I'll need ic944, crank, bearings, gaskets, rings, cam, springs # DCC-5249464, retainers # DCC-4452032, keepers # DCC-4529218, lifters, oil pump, HES9195FR, and new injectors. Do I really need 24 lb/hr Ford injectors or would 21/23 from http://www.hescosc.com/products/7971/in ... nd-related be better for fuel economy and fitting in with the computer?

I assume I don't need a high volume oil pump like http://www.angelfire.com/my/fan/HVOP.html ?

Am I overlooking anything? Or can anything be made better for my needs?
