The bolts can be reused and if the HG is the new style MLS type, that can also be reused.

x2 on the bolts. Not sure of the HG, but I heard it can be reused.

Is the timing cover and oil pan on? If not you could pull the camshaft and install the lifters from below.

Edit: That definitely sucks.

Well they are both debatable..

On a new build i wouldnt trust a HG thats already been squished. I dont know if an MLS would hold up better or not.. but i definitely wouldnt do that to a regular HG.

Additionally, how many times have the HG Bolts been used? If they were brand new to begin with, you can use them one more time. If they were used ones, you will need to get new Bolts. Our HG Bolts are a TTY Variant that can only be re-used once.
If it feels right, then STROKE it!

I probably wouldn't chance the gasket?, I wouldn't have ANY! issues reusing the bolts!, they are NOT! "torque to yield" type, Kryslur probably recommends replacing them because they think they can sell you a new set!??

Then it'll be good to reuse especially as you haven't run the engine since you installed it the first time.
