Auto Tranny Wiring harness quest. Going On manual trans
I just bought a 4.0 engine with wiring harness n computer. But it's off 95 grand Cherokee auto. Will that wiring harness and computer work on manual tranny?

It can work. I'm running an auto XJ comp and wiring in my manual XJ. You have to jump the NSS to make it start. Jeep runs fine down the road thinking it is in park at 60mph. Getting cruise to work would require a switch to trick it into thinking it is in gear. Won't do cruise in park. Might be slightly harder with a ZJ comp and the BCM/alarm depending on options but definitely usable.

My '90 XJ (Renix) will keep the cruise engaged in neutral.
If you set the NSS to be in Neutral it might keep you from having to add the "I'm in park but not IN park" switch

Proud owner of many stroker parts, that have not yet spontaneously assembled themselves.TurboTom wrote: Not sure of your rules...but you need to start with an engine that works best for the rules and cheat from there!
