I got my kit from Titan and I built it my self and it's a bad jeep. the guy's at Titan have been nice and have been there everytime that I have called. I put the KB-944 0.30 over elgin cam 25 pound injectors ported head 1986 4.2 crank from autozone turned 0.10-0.10 and I put it in as 1999 jeep wrangler king bearings, I had it ballanced from the harmonic to the pressure plate. I have 307 gears but this jeep was getting about 12-13 miles per and now it's 23 miles per. I can't understand it but I don't have to give it any gas and it's gone and it will flat out run off and beat any V8 ford/Chevy cause I done that today. 2nd and 3rd gear just keeps pulling. deck was cut 15,000 and had the head just cut 3,000. but Titan sold me more then just good parts they have stayed with me until it got done. Thanks Titan.......Hamilton,Alabama :D

RayRay wrote:ok.put non syn oil back in it,drove alot of miles and so far all cyls. are good with no signs of oil except #3 cyl. but it is using less and less every time i drive it. prob. wont be long. still cant belive syn.oil wouldnt let things seal like they should! lession learned on that one. still shouldnt have taken so many miles to get this engine broke in.no more TITAN ENGINES for me! got a ho4.0 to build a 4.7 MYSELF for a xj rokbugy. i'll be asking ya'll LOTS of questions to get the project along. ok. southwest virginia and southeast kentucky (where i live and wheel) is an awsome proving ground. thanks ya'll

the way i understand it is this. the syn oil prevents the rings from wearing. so they dont form a true seal with their cylinder walls, which is why most cars say to run standard oil for at least 5k miles.
