strange change

Post by spdrcr137 »

So I got the stroker all put together and installed with no major issues. Got the dizzy correct and the motor was running great. I put about 3000 miles on the build and now the motor is pinging during full throttle, the motor used to run right up to redline and shift hard. Now it runs up to about 3500 and starts pinging. I didnt install an afr because it ran so good from the start. now im confused as to what could have changed.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Your injectors could be clogged up so try adding a bottle of injector treatment next time you fill the tank up with gas.

Changed injecters to ford 24# built an adjustable map sset it at 5.5 and still the same issue. With 91 octane it is a very light ping at 87 it really makes a rattle.

What are the specs of your stroker build and what parts went into it? Is the SCR high?
Try premium fuel for now and buy a wideband O2 sensor/AFR gauge so you can find out what's going on. I know it's going to cost a few $$$ but it's still a lot cheaper than having to replace broken pistons/rings that have been damaged by detonation.
