I was just looking through the april '11 4 wheel and off road when , on pg48, there's a sweet look'n i-6 from sixpak's ride! Looks great! And congrats on the "Best Engineered" award.

What's the jest of yur set-up, specifically throttle body type and size, fuel management, and exhaust system specifics..and anthing else you care to share. By the way, are you the same SIXPAK that used to post on the Clifford site way back in the ninteen hundreds???
Yes, same guy I6fan. Intake was made by me starting with a weber side draft mainfold. It uses three factory 87-90 tb's. Fuel management by Electromotive. Header is a six into one by Kromer Kraft and is 1 and 7/8. Flat tappet cam with only .500 lift at the valve. Jesel roller rockers, and an Xceldyne belt drive for timing (BBC converted,uses an idler) Head port by Rick Mudge. Stock valves. Ran the 1/4 mile a few years back and it ran 11.16 @118. Could have done better but car is not weight bais-ed for the asphalt. It butt heavy and hit the wheelie bars so hard the rear tires would come off the ground.
Is that Jesel a shaft set-up? What head casting are you using now? I've seen Rick Mudge's name mentioned on the sticky about head porting, who is he exactly? At one time, you used the 4cw crank and broke some main caps. Did you ever go back to the solid main caps for these engines? How do you "deal" with the classic harmonic that happens in these engines? I know, right, lots of questions!!!
Yes, Jesel shaft setup with a 7120 head. Rick worked for AMC and designed the 4.0 head. Then moved to Chrysler with mopar cylinder head developement.
Never got to the point to use the 258 solid main caps. At the time money was short (and still is) so it just did not happen. I just put back in the 12cw crank I took out and let her rev. I did buy some main cap studs though, no factory girdle though. 4cw crank never really showed me any return in ET or MPH. If it had I would have looked into other options. I have never really done anything about the harmonics other than use a large fluidamper balancer. Even when I had a standard trans in the car the motor ran between 5300 to 6000. Now in N/A form with an automatic its 5300-6300 and with NOS it's 4300 to 7100.
SIXPAK, are those 87-90[renix] throttle bodies off of a 4.0 or 2.5? How are they wired in; I'm assuming only one has TPS[IAC?], and the others are syncronized? You went back with the 12cw crank, but opted to drop the girdle. Had you ever used the girdle with the 12cw? How much for the Jesel shaft set up, $1200+? On the Clifford site, do you remeber a guy named Lee on there. I think he was a Chevy guy, but boy they used to give him some grief...regularly!!!
TB's are off a 87-90 4.0. The main TB has the TPS, the back one has the IAC for shorter wiring and a cleaner look. The motor runs on the front TB until after 1/4 throttle then the other two open up via progressive linkage.
