Cam was put in straight up dot to dot. im using ngk bkr6e. distributor is in there but i had to cut the ears off cause it was about 1/8" off. 24* mustang injectors. i have an afe but the o2 sensor is bad and i need to get a new one. Stock map right now. pings under slight load. under 80% throttle for sure. stock map.

If you didn't degree the cam in it could be off... especially with the double roller sets.

the motor seems to ping in like 3rd or 4th light throttle up a hill. I guess there's really not much i can do at this point externally right?

The pinging sounds like a fueling problem. What injectors? Tune?

x2 on the injectors and fueling mods. What gas are you running? With your 9.6:1 CR you shouldn't be pinging with the 68-232-4 cam.
