Head gasket question

Post by robswampthing »

I'm in the process of putting my motor together now. It's bored over .030 I tried using search function but this forum has been finicky latley and it isnt working. :deadhorse: :deadhorse:

Recommendations? part #'s would be wonderful. I can use a stock size one with that bore right? atleast i was told that.

For reference its a 92 block with a clear water 0331 head.

Thanks guys.

The search is working fine for me.. if you are having issues then take screenshots and contact me via PM.

Most Jeep head gaskets come with a 4" bore.. so any stock Head gasket will be fine... although they do come in different compressed thickness's. Most of us choose the thinnest gasket to maintain a smaller quench. For us the desired quench is the head gasket thickness.
If it feels right, then STROKE it!

Thank you for the timely Responses, i really appreciate both of your efforts.

As far as the search issue Admin, at all times on this sight i have a phpbb DEbug in the header with about 4 lines of coding.

The search function is working for me now. I think today June 3,2012 the internet as a whole had multiple holes. I had issues with connections to my servers and a few of the sites i host as well as a few major companies Host had issues aswell. Ill give you an update if I hear anymore.

on the original subject though. i plan to get the perma torque severe duty.

Just for reference...ALL...I mean ALLL jeep headgaskets have a 4.0 bore. I needed a oversized a while back due to a screwup in porting my combustion chambers and the ONLY headgasket in the WORLD bigger than 4.0 was a copper racing gasket from SCE in california had a bigger dia at 4.060. I beat this issue to death, but they are not out there plus the copper leaked like a siv...at .030 over a stock headgasket will do fine but i have the 505 specially made MLS gasket installed now and it fixed all my problems...plus a new unscrewed up head . Its pricey...75 but its a nice gasket...beats the hell out of the 300 copper.
