FTC-019B with Split Second Enricher

Is there any disadvantage to using the FTC-019B with the Split Second Enricher?

The FTC is a 2-Bar map sensor that converts boost to a readable setting for the ECU... but I don't see how allowing it to read boost will increase the fuel trim enough to COMPENSATE for boost? It just seems like it's letting the ECU understand it while maintaining stock fuel trims. It seems absolutely useless without the Split Second Enricher which intercepts the 02 readings and converts them to whatever you set it to, yet the guy I bought the Avenger off of recommended I use the FTC019B but made no mention of the Enricher.

The FTC manual specifically says you can use the Enricher to adjust 02 readings for ECU's that alter fuel input and disregard MAP (which they all do, so I don't see why they would sell one separate from the other?).

Assuming I bought and used both, one adjusting the MAP sensor reading to read boost, and the other to alter my 02 sensor to actually control my fuel input, would there be a disadvantage to using this setup over the AEM FIC that everyone uses?

I know you can use the AEM to control injectors directly. I'm wondering what the advantage of that is over just altering the one 02 sensor reading and letting the ECU do the math for me.

I haven't read the manual, but I'm assuming it will allow me to alter AFR readings from say 14.7 and send out a "lean" reading by incrementing the signal by my input. Say 2 points... meaning 16.7 is sent to the ECU and it alters the output to the injectors in order to lower the AFR 2 points (assuming that is exactly what it does it would put me at 12.7).

I already have an aftermarket 02 sensor from Innovate. It has to be free-air calibrated unfortunately unlike the AEM version :?

The Split Second FTC will work to control the injectors and timing with S/C or turbos. It is more expensive than the AEM.

Maybe, but it seems simpler. And I like simplicity.

Wouldn't it also have the advantage of taking in to account elevation because it still uses the MAP? So I wouldn't have to have an alternate tune for making a trip up to 7000 ft to go wheeling? Or does the AEM also intercept and alter the MAP?

Anyways, I like the idea of intercepting the 02 since it is the major fuel trimming tool for the ECU as it is stock. So by controlling it you don't have to mess with and alter all the other variables in the equation. I'm lazy.
