A small RV cam will compliment the increase in cubic inches and compression nicely. .448 lift and lower is compatible with stock springs and a duration of under around 210 degrees will not adversely affect the computer or torque. Stock cam = smog cam. Just my .02 but I really don't see the point in increases the air and fuel requirement of an engine and then choking it with a stock cam.

He's probably referring to the Crower 44915 with a 0.050" lift duration of 208* and a valve lift of 0.448".

I used an Erson Cam 'cause they were located in Carson City until just recently and I knew everyone that worked there so I got a deal. I used part# E720111. it worked for me. You could ask a hundred guys for a cam selection and you'd get 130 different answers.

I want to just do a basic stroke. no big cam no big bore TB just the 4.2 crank and rods. I ask Auto Zone about the crank and rod's and they have a good price. can I do that ? and it's a 99 jeep wrangler. do I need the long snout or short ? and about the only thing I know is the washers on the Crank vib to keep it from hitting. I need someone that know's a lot more then me. I have built chevys all my life but I'm lost in this.Thank's to anyone who can help this dumb dumb.

You can go the autozone route, but the crank may be turned a bunch. You can use either crank. If you get a long one you will just need a spacer between the balancer and bolt washer. As far as washers, you use them on the main girdle to keep the crank from hitting it, don't know if that is what you are refering to.

Since you have built chevys the thrust bearing goes on the #3 main, not the rear one.
