Re: Mud racing with a stroker?
Anyone ever use these window switches? http://www.summitracing.com/search/Bran ... toview=SKU I was thinking it would be nice to set it to turn 2nd gear on at 1000 rpm's and off at 4800. Takes the human error out of it and hides it from the techs. Not that it's illegal, I just don't want them tearing into my dash to see where it goes and all the other racers thinking my switch is some kind of cheater switch.

Re: Mud racing with a stroker?
I put the tach in (for the shift light) and did the 2nd gear lockout mod. But my problem is when the shifter is in 3rd with the switch in the on position (2nd gear mod on) it shifts into 3rd on it's own. Is that right? One way or the other I'm gonna run it that way I have plenty enough motor to leave in 2nd in low range and man it feels great. Thanks for all the help and I'm very happy with the jeep, hope it does well this weekend. Here's her run at the TBC, she get lots of applause because the rubi on 33 mt's that ran in front of her had to winch 3 times to get through the course so the crowd was pumped. Not saying the guy could drive but she's a crowd pleaser being the only girl against all the guy's.

Re: Mud racing with a stroker?
We run are first mud race on Saturday and did what we wanted and beat the blazer...
She took second getting beat by a build 6.0L truck that R&R auto sales built this winter... The 6.0L truck ran a 5.44, Missy ran a 5.56 and the blazer ran a 5.95, then on his second run he tryed the old neutral drop to gain a few tenths on Missy and this happened...
This thread is getting old and waaaaaayyyy off topic so I'm gonna start a build thread for her stroker...I'm happy with everything else, so now it's time to build a real racing motor..It was nice beating all the fullsize guy's but there's one more out there that's sunk thousands into that 2004 6.0L that we need to beat..He was very suprised that he only beat are station wagon with a stock "tractor" motor by a tenth...

Re: Mud racing with a stroker?
Well the new season starts tomorrow and the strokers in and running strong. We'll see how it compares to last year running a stocker.
Problem is it's hard to compare because everyone steps it up and gets faster year to year, but were pretty happy with the motor and I'm gonna have her run 33 boggers first pass and Q buckshots on her second to see what gearing the motor likes. Thanks everyone for all the help

Pump gas (10.75 :1 compression) . 355 ratio with the current 35" tires but have run 308's with 33" tires( good for about 125 kph in o.d. and low range @ 5000 rpm). Forged pistons now but got by for years with a similer setup and cheapy cast s.b.c. pistons.

Re: Mud racing with a stroker?
Were running 355's with a second gear lockout. We didn't do so good 2 weekends ago, on her first speed pit pass she blew a freeze plug out of the block. I layed across the motor and beat another one in so she could run the deep pit, needless to say I broke a vacuum line going into the intake and halfway through her deep pit run it wanted to cough up through the intake. Good news was this saturday we ran in OH (which is tire size classes) and she took second in the speed pit (SBC Toyota beat her) and won the deep pit...
