More Head Bolt stuff

A while back there was a thread that had info that said the Fel-Pro headbolts for a 96 and up (easy to get) were not good for a 95 and earlier (tough to get) Both are a 1/2 inch dia bolt. It also listed the place where to get those pre-96 bolts. The main question ..what determines which set to get.. I have a 96 block but am going to run a pre 96...7120 head . Do I get the bolts for a 96 or the ones for a pre-96 and what is the difference. I have done a search but cant find that thread...thanks
