You can vote once each for city and highway mileage. You may want to include things like tire size, gear ratio, manual or automatic, or any other mods that may affect it.

Re: What kind of mileage do you get with your stroker?
I average 16 MPG on a tank of gas that includes a combination of city and off road driving . I do very little highway driving so I only voted for city. I'm running 32 Swampers with a locked rear diff and open front. I like to play around a little so I could probably improve on 16 but where's the fun in that? At 8" of lift and running a roof rack it's kinda like driving a brick into the wind:)

ive got 31's with stock gears and open diffs. the best i got on the hwy was about 25 mpg BUT that on a calm day and good traffic (drafting helps) but other wise i get 21-22 hwy. 14-16 city but that playing in some mud and with the skinny pedel (nothing like living in the country were you have mud to get to your house)

Where is the option for less than 10 mpg? I get about 7-8 from my stock 4.0 I'm building the stroker for, mostly because it's always kicking the trans down to 3rd. When I can get it to stay in 4th, I can get about 12-14mpg at best.
FWIW, I know it's not a stroker yet, but here's the basics for comparison. It's a 4.0 (for now),AW4 trans, 4.10 gears (limited slip D44/F8.8 swap) and 35x12.5/15's on 6" of lift.

the reason it's always kicking down and giving crap for mileage is because your running 4.10's on 35's. put a set of 4.56's on and your mileage will increaseGoMopar440 wrote:Where is the option for less than 10 mpg? 2X's. I've got 4.10's with some worn out 32's and it is close to same same RPM's at 60 MPH as stock was. The stroker will help but you will be giving up performance in improper gearing. I would even consider 4:88's to over gear in an effort to make up for the increased tire weight and rolling resistance. I'm gonna when I move to 35's but gotta build a front end first and in the meantime I'm gonna cheat and run a set of 33's with my 4.10's.shawnxj wrote:the reason it's always kicking down and giving crap for mileage is because your running 4.10's on 35's. put a set of 4.56's on and your mileage will increase

Tell me something I don't already know...
I don't drive the XJ much unless my stock '02 WJ is down for whatever reason (like the recent blown T-case incident). So the gearing change gets low priority behind all my other projects I have going on at the moment. The gearing change to 4.56 is on the table, just not any time soon unfortunately. The bike rebuild comes first (best MPG), then the 4.6/4.7 stroker, THEN I'll be able to get around to swapping the gears and axles.

When I had 32" a/t's I got 20 or so on the highway. Since going to 33 m/t's it has dropped a few. 3.73's and manual tranny.

With 32's, it was about 2800 @65mph. 33's are about 2500. She'll do over 80 easy though if I'm feeling brave! (or stupid!!SilverXJ wrote:What RPMs and speeds do you turn on the highway?
