Stroker Recipies Power Numbers
I'm going over all the Stroker Recipes and what kind of power they make and was wondering about the horse power and torque numbers. Are these numbers measured at the flywheel or are they power numbers coming from the wheels.
A Hummer is just a Hummer, but a Jeep goes all the way.

Re: Stroker Recipies Power Numbers
Unless stated in whp, its more than likely crank hp
For example when a 4.6 setup claims 260hp and 320tq, it's flywheel estimates

Whats a formula I can use to calculate the power numbers from the crank and end up with power at the wheels?

It varies but subtracting 15% - 25% is the rule of thumb with the 4wd vehicle being towards the high side of the range.

whp will vary based on they type of dyno you test on, but if 5spd expect a 15-20% loss and 25-30% for autoflexin91xj wrote:Whats a formula I can use to calculate the power numbers from the crank and end up with power at the wheels?
dino's stroker made roughly 250 crank hp, which he stated made 202whp with his 5spd

Re: Stroker Recipies Power Numbers
The HP/TQ numbers I quoted for my "recipes" are at the flywheel. There's no formula for calculating rwhp from flywheel HP and there are many variables that can affect the results. The best way to find out if your mods have added HP/TQ is to do a baseline dyno run first and then repeat the run with the mods on the SAME dyno.flexin91xj wrote:I'm going over all the Stroker Recipes and what kind of power they make and was wondering about the horse power and torque numbers.
