AEM Wideband O2 Air/Fuel UEGO Gauge questions

Im going to be puchasing the AEM Wideband O2 Air/Fuel UEGO Gauge and had some questions. I will aslo be buying AEM's FI/C 30-1913 Piggy Back system for my Jeep's 4.0 soon to be a 4.6, but thats further down the line when the funds are available. I will be getting the AEM Wideband O2 Air/Fuel UEGO Gauge first here pretty soon and
my quesion is this, will I need to weld a new bung on the exhaust pipe near the stock O2 sensor or somewhere else to fit the AEM Wideband O2 sensor and connect the positive and ground wires while leaving the stock/factory O2 sensor alone and plugged in? Im pretty sure I cant just replace the stock O2 sensor with the AEM Wideband O2 sensor, connect some wires and expect the factory OBDI computer to know whats going on. Or can I? Im pretty sure I know once I get the FI/C piggy back system that I will be able to plug the wideband in to that. BUT.... will I still need to keep the stock/factory O2 sensor hooked up once the piggy back system is installed or will it become obsolete?

the AEM wideband o2 sensor does not replace the factory o2 as they are different. the factory pcm (or ecu) cannot read the AEM sensor. you would simply just weld a new bung before any cat and wire up the wideband as normal.... they are pretty straight forward.

Innovate´s wideband lets you feed a ¨programmable¨ narrowband output to the factory PCM where the OEM O2 sensor signal would have gone- Of course, you still need to have the factory 02 plugged into the harness for the heater circuit to make OBDII happy, BUT you can ¨trick¨ the ecu because Innovate´s software lets you program the ¨switch¨ point of the narrowband signal to whatever air/fuel ratio you like, effectively causing the PCM to tune closed-loop to whatever you like. It´s neat stuff! Plus, the gauge is attractive and easily read, and calibration is a snap.

I imagine it would work with either- but you can find their product descriptions/install instructions/software instructions via google. Both OBD-i and OBD-II use narrowband inputs, so I believe that substituting the wideband controllers narrowband out signal for the ECM narrowband in signal would have the same effect on either for closed loop tuning

FYI I used the Innovate DB Wideband Kit, which is basically the Innovate LC-1 wideband + controller and also includes a gauge- the tuning capability I am referring to is inherent to the LC-1, you can program the controller to output a modified narrowband signal- the gauge is simply an accessory that reads the wideband output. You could order the LC-1 by itself if you already have a gauge.
