Carbide burrs for poorting...

Post by Dezertxj88 »

Hey guys so far I've had my Renix head checked out...yup a Renix, all was good. Gonna be cool to pop the hood and have all the old Renix stuff...and a turbo
Hot tank/magnaflux-$20

Anyway before I started porting it I thought I should post up what I've got, and see if I should add to it, and what exactly should I add! I'm confident in doing this job myself, ported a few honda heads for some guys & myself a few years back..not to hard, just go slow and don't take too much away, mainly cleaning up, gasket matching ect.
I already have a 90 piece "Jegs porting kit"..its got 90 pieces, large-small but only 80 & 120 grit. I have a few die grinders, both air and electric. I have a great lighting source..I have an old dentist like light that bends into any position which will be nice.

Anyway, should I grab some stones? Rougher or smoother rolls? And I want to grab a few carbide burs..I know I need to be careful with these lol!

Would these carbide burs be ok to port an iron head?

Those burrs should work fine. They are definitely from china so they might not hold up too long, but you also might not use them a lot.

They're even shipping from China! Hope you're not in a hurry to get them.
I would get some larger diameter ones too. I usually buy them at swap meets.
