Elgin 2011s lifters

Installing my lifters this afternoon I noticed that about half the lifters took a lot more force to push the plungers down than the others while they were sitting on the bench. I ..mean I wasn't trying to bottom them out or anything just activating them to make sure they operated normally. Is this just because there is a little more lube in some from the factory than others? I was told one time they were filled with diesel fuel. Just a observation that got me wondering..
