Re: new to the forum
Best to read the FAQ's and the posts in the "Projects" section to get started.
If it feels right, then STROKE it!

What do you have now and how much do you have to spend on your stroker project? What type of use will the stroker be subjected to?boomerjeep wrote:as the title says im new to the forum and im in need of some help. i am getting ready to pull my engine and have decided to go ahead with my idea of building a stroker, my issue is that im looking for a parts list of everything i will need. im sorry if there is already one on here, i havent found it yet. any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated.
If you can answer those questions we can advise you on which parts to get and where to get them from.

Re: new to the forum
This short list sums up 99.5% of what you'll need:
Crankshaft
Pistons
Bigger fuel injectors
Engine kit from a supplier like Falcon Global or Northern auto parts
There would be additional options such as a performance cam, valves/springs, roller timing chains, ARP rod bolts, etc.

Re: new to the forum
i have a stock 4.0 jeep right now. ive got roughly 2500 to spend. i called a machine shop here in el paso yesterday and they quoted me 460 to bore the block, 3 degree valve job, decking if needed, balancing crank, shot peening rods and pressing the wrist pins and cam bearings. my jeep is mainly used for rock crawling and trail runs.

Then this stroker recipe should be within your budget if you're doing the engine teardown/rebuild yourself:boomerjeep wrote:i have a stock 4.0 jeep right now. ive got roughly 2500 to spend. i called a machine shop here in el paso yesterday and they quoted me 460 to bore the block, 3 degree valve job, decking if needed, balancing crank, shot peening rods and pressing the wrist pins and cam bearings. my jeep is mainly used for rock crawling and trail runs.

Re: new to the forum
Summit Racing is the best place to source most of the parts.
I'll put up a parts list in a separate post so others can use it as a reference.
