Exhaust routing...
Trying to fab up my exhaust. I am having a hard time trying to keep it tucked up like the OEM exhaust was and to keep it routed similar to OEM (i.e. between the bellhousing and the auto trans pan). I am using a Borla header mated to 2.5 in pipe. My question is how close can I run my exhaust to the tranny pan without causing too many issues? I am not to worried about highway driving, but during low speed trail driving will having the exhaust within an inch of the pan cause ill effects? Would wrapping it help? Just looking to bounce these ideas around...

Re: Exhaust routing...
header wrap would be the easiest/cheapest to apply to that section of exhaust. Ceramic coating would work better
or fab up a heat shield of some sort

Re: Exhaust routing...
I don't think it will be an issue. The factory exhaust runs in front of the transmission pan any how. You could always put head shield on the pan to protect it if you are worried.

Wrap + heat shield if you are worried. Are your headers wrapped?

Re: Exhaust routing...
Nope...
I ended up running similar to stock while maintaining a 1-2 inch clearance from anything tranny related. I will still wrap the crosspipe portion just to make sure i get minimal heat transfer to the tranny fluid...
Ill post pics as soon as I get the rest of the exhaust hung.
