Valve Springs and Cams that work
I've read different opinions people have about Mopar springs and the lack of other options. I understand that the ramp rates on the cam has an affect, but what seat and open pressures are good, little, or too much? So that we have a reference.
FYI I am going to try running Comp Beehive springs with 111 @ 1.675 and 230 @ 1.225 with a custom grind cam, probably Crower.

I'm looking as well. I've been searching thru spring charts for hours....and hours.
Stock specs derived from 2001 Factory Service Manual:
Installed height: 1.65", 71-79 pounds
Pressure at 1.216"(.434 lift), 202-218 pounds
Pressure at 1.2" (.450 lift), 209-226 pounds. I'm using this height/lift for my search. Cam is the Crower 44243, 0.437/0.445" lift
Rate: 300-335 lbs/in
Coil bind, tested in a vise: 1.125". Add the recommended 0.060" safety margin, and these should be good for 0.465 lift.
Sprind OD at top: 1.2"
Crower recommends 90-105 pounds for seat pressure, 260-275 open for this cam.
Crane recommends 105-125 pounds for seat pressure, 260 open for over 4000 rpm. Small block V8.
Springs I'm considering
Crower 68301X3: Rate= 330, 117 @ 1.65", 269 @ 1.2". Would work better with installed height of 1.70"....104/247 lbs. 1.25" OD should fit stock retainer
Crower 68301X1: Rate= 378, 123 @ 1.65, 297 @ 1.2. 105/274 at installed height of 1.7". 1.255" OD should fit stock retainer.
Crower 68305X1: Rate= 367, 101 @ 1.60, 268 @ 1.15, would require 0.050" shim. 1.405" OD would require a different retainer.
Crane 99842: Rate= 318, 102 @1.50, 245 @ 1.05, would require 0.150" shim, and larger retainers for 1.41" OD
Crane 96803: Rate= 330, 107 @ 1.7, 251 @ 1.25, 1.435" OD
Crane 99833: Rate= 328, 113 @1.65, 256 @ 1.2, 1.44" OD
Comp 901: Rate= 353, 101 @ 1.65, 260 @ 1.2", 1.494 OD
Comp 980: Rate= 308, 92 @ 1.70, 230 @ 1.25", 1.23 OD .....near stock. Close to the coil bind point!
Comp 26981 Beehive: Rate= 347, 110 @ 1.70, 266 @ 1.25, 1.065 OD, 0.65 ID, might not fit valve seal.
Comp 981: Rate= 370, 105 @ 1.7, 273 @ 1.25, 1.254 OD should fit stock retainer
Comp 903: 95/226 1.4" OD, near stock
Comp 942: 115/267 1.437" OD
Comp 982: 100/263, 1.25" OD, but needs to be installed at 1.75"
Conclusions: I'm not seeing a perfect spring, but the first Crower is closest, but a bit on the heavy side unless you can get the installed height a higher....
Open pressure:
-stock is near 225 at .450" lift
-A little more would be preferred, but how much is too much? 260?, 275?
Spring Retainers.... what are the options for the late 8mm 3 groove valves?
-One that's stepped higher will allow us to use a higher installed height.
-A 1.4" OD will fit many of the above springs.
Beehives....do they fit over the stock valve seal?
If I don't find a solution in the next week, I'm leaving the stockers in for the break in.

I wanted to try making 68404 Crower dual springs work first, but I wasn't able to find a 10* lock for mopar valves. It was then that I tried looking into beehives and I am hoping that the much lighter spring will let me get away with a slightly higher than stock open pressure. I don't plan on letting it hit 5k rpms, but some hills may see 4k or so.

FYI, I used some Crane 99833 springs which are 1.440" diameter and some of them rubbed the aluminum valve cover on my 93'. I'm not sure about the newer steel valve cover if it'll offer more clearance or not...

Stock specs for 97 TJ from Alldata
ID 0.827" - 0.847"
Closed 61 - 69 lbs @ 1.64
Open 184 - 196 lbs @ 1.216
The Comp 26125 I'm trying to use are ID .650/.738, OD 1.013/1.101. Well see if it will clear a standard valve seal, but thin walled are still an option.

I didn't see the Mopar Performance springs, P5249464 single w/damper1.42"OD .400"/.525" lift. I don't know the specs exactly but believe they are a direct replacement for the stock units with ~110 lbs on the seat and 300+ at 1.2". Do you think this spring is an option?

They are an option, but a costly one:
Springs @ $10.20 each= $122.40
Retainers @ $8.50 each= $102.00
Keepers @ $11.90
Total = $236.30 just to put some decent valve springs in a daily driver!

Just to add; I had to have the seats of the springs machined to get the correct pressures with the Mopar springs.

Hey all, looking for some confirmation on this.
I've been searching for different valve locks for longer than I care to mention. These locks didn't list a degree, but I would guess 8* if the retainer is 7*, right? In either case this won't work. The retainer sits crooked and it just plain sucks. Anyone know where to source 7* locks for an 5/16" stem with the bead on top?

Just ordered 53021676AB retainers for $15 total to see if it will work. The current ones are .630/.930, my best guess of what the mopar ones are .640/.1000

I'm having a difficult time finding detailed specs as well. Here's a site listing original Chrysler parts and their applications. At least you can find which locks and springs will fit those retainers.

I heard back from Crower...
The 68301x3 that looked like a drop-in has been discontinued.
They recommended a dual spring #68324 that would produce 108# at 1.65" installed height, and 227# at 1.20" or 0.450" lift. Rate is 258 lbs/inch.
That's more seat pressure than stock, but just a hair more at full lift.
Retainer is #87044 which is a standard 7 degree for a 5/16" stem. I was told it would work with stock locks (3 groove on my 2001).
Cost isn't bad at $140 for springs and retainers, but head needs to be cut for the dual springs..... so we're back to near $200 for a valve spring upgrade.
Time to search the catalogs again. This time for a lighter spring.

I started with a Crower dual spring 68404, but couldn't find a lock/keeper that would work with my valve. I should get the Mopar retainer tomorrow at which point I'll post measurements. The Comp spring I'm trying to run requires cutting the head as well.
