calculation help

Post by New Stroker »

Working on my first stroker build. I'm going 4.6. Using a 2000 4.0 block bored .030 over. Going to use the 4.2 rods and crank. I'm trying to figure out how to figure out what my compression ratio will be. Using standard Felpro head gasket. Not sure on the thickness. I'm assuming stock/standard thickness. I've read about the calculations that involve cylinder volume etc..but it confuses me... Need to pick a cam and need a general idea on CR before doing so. Just plan on cleaning up the deck surface and head so not much taken off unless needed. Thanks for any help you can give.

You can use the calculator at the upper right hand corner of the forum. Enter all your values into it and it will help you see what changes you make will do to your compression. Both Static and Dynamic.

If it feels right, then STROKE it!
